The International Association of Ultrarunners (IAU) and the International Trail Running Association (ITRA) are proud to present the 2018 World Trail Championships, organized by the Penyagolosa Trails HG and the Real Federación Española de Atletismo and taking place in Spain in Castellón from May 10th to May 13th 2018.

IAU Area Representative for the Americas declared!It is our pleasure to declare that after second round of voting the new IAU Area Representative for the Americas is Arturo Fabián Campanini López from Argentina. Election for IAU Americas Area Representative � second round
Election for IAU Americas Area Representative – second round. At the deadline for casting votes for the IAU Area Representative for the Americas, we had only received five votes. This was insufficient to elect an Area Representative on the first round. Therefore, according to Article 13.10 of our constitution, the first vote for any election requires an absolute majority. In this case, an absolute majority would be seven as there are 13 IAU Federations in the Americas and all are available for an electronic election. A second vote amongst all the candidates is therefore required and a candidate will be elected if they get a simple majority on that occasion. If two candidates tie then Article 13.11 comes into force and we will require third round.
2 events in Romania
Press conference in Brasov for 2019 IAU 50 km World Championship and informal discussion in Timisoara before S24H race. It was a busy weekend in Romania. Nadeem Khan, the President of IAU participated in two events in Romania. First on September 21st as speaker during an informal discussion before S24H race in Timisoara and on the following day, September 22nd, he took part of the press conference in Brasov.
New 100 km World Record ratified by IAAF
New 100 km World Record ratified by IAAF. On September 14th, IAAF ratified the men 100 km World Record 6:09:14 achieved by Nao Kazami (JPN) in Kitami City on 24 June 2018. The previous record 6:13:33 was set by Takahiro Sunada (JPN) on June 21st, 1998 during the same race. The record sustained for 20 years.
