World Athletics, formerly IAAF (International Amateur Athletic Federation and International Association of Athletics Federations) is the international governing body for the sport of athletics, covering track and field, cross country running, road running, racewalking, mountain running and ultrarunning.
The International Association of Ultrarunners (IAU) is a World Athletics Partnership Association and was officially recognised by the World Athletics (IAAF) in 1988 as the governing body for the sport of ultrarunning around the world. IAU recognizes and appreciates this support and upholds its mandate of promoting ultrarunning across the globe.
European Athletics (EA) and IAU signed the agreement to support each other in joint effort to promote distance and ultrarunning across Europe, engage Member Federations to this segment of Athletics and doing its best efforts to integrate Ultrarunning Associations to the Member Federations of EA.
As support EA will pay an annual grant towards IAU to promote European ultrarunning.
This agreement starts in 2017 and will be renewed annually if not cancelled.
IAU and WMA signed recently a long term cooperation for at least 5 years.
Besides this, both International Associations are looking to extend this cooperation to other events as well as the 100K.

Keeping this enthusiasm in mind and catering to our athletes needs we furthered our partership till 2021.We are looking forward to many more athletes joining these championships as we progress through the coming years
