IAU Congress and elections 2020 postponed to 2021
IAU Congress and Elections for the IAU Executive Council were timetable to take place the weekend of the IAU 100K World Championships at Winschoten, Netherlands in September 2020. Unfortunately due to the Covid 19 situation, the IAU 100K World Championships was cancelled and therefore the IAU Congress and Elections would also have to be postponed. The current Executive Council therefore remain in post until the new IAU Congress 2021 takes place on the weekend of 22nd/23rd May 2021 in Timisoara, Romania. Elections for the new Executive Council will take place then and they will serve for the next four years. Further information will be sent out at the end of 2020.

The draft minutes of the 2018 Congress held on September 7th at Sveti Martin, Croatia, are now attached. These have been agreed by the IAU Executive Council.

IAU Constitution ( Latest Update)
Latest update At the EGM in Belfast on June 30th 2017 two amendments were made to the Constitution. On 30th June 2017, the IAU Congress at its EGM amended the Constitution regarding membership and elections. See the revised IAU Constitution
Registration in Monaco
On 20th March 2013, we heard from Pierre Weiss that the IAU is now officially registered in Monaco and the official journal has published this. See attachment (in French)
Declaration March 2013
The final version of the IAU Constitution that was accepted by the Monegasque Government is also attached here. Our official address is at the IAAF address in Monaco which will maintain our close relationship with the IAAF. Good news indeed and we are very grateful for all the work that Pierre Weiss has put in to bring this to fruition.
IAU Extraordinary General Meeting June 30th 2017 Belfast
All IAU member federations have received the invitation letter, agenda and proposed constitution amendments for the EGM. This is scheduled to allow the Constitution to be changed for elections to take place in 2018 and allow all IAAF member federations becom IAU members. Here is the letter of invitation., together with the agenda and the two constitional amendmentss E 17-1 and E 17-2 . Please encourage your federation takes note and send a representative.

IAU Congress 2014 20th November 2014, Doha, Qatar.
The minutes and the papers from the IAU Congress 2014 in Doha are below. Please find links to the draft minutes and the papers and budget from the IAU Congress 2014. This will be provided as reference to the next Congress in 2016 in Spain.
Our Full Congress with elections is held every 4 years. The next full congress will take place in 2016 at the venue of the IAU 100K World Championships in Los Alcazares, Spain on November 26th. and the formal letter announcing it has gone to IAU member federations on 23rd August. It is attached here. In addition a non-elective Congress held in between where any changes to the Constitution can be made and IAU matters reported on . The last one was in Doha, Qatar, before the 2014 IAU 100K World Championships images/Congress 2016 1st letter to MFs final(1).pdf
The elections are being held every 4 years. The next elections will be in November 2016 and IAU Member Federations have been asked to submit nominations by September 26th. More information on the candidates will be uploaded at the end of October 2016.
IAU Executive Council Meeting
Held yearly in January in Monaco. In 2016, a second mid-year meeting was held in Leuven in Belgium in June where a number of WABPs were ratified, progress on championships were monitored and various updates to the website and labelling systems were discussed. .
