2019 IAU 50 Km World Championship � race-report

2019 IAU 50 Km World Championship – race-report. The 50KM World Championships took place on September 1, 2019 in the Braşov city in Romania and was organized by the IAU, together with the Romanian Athletics Federation, with the support of the Ministry of Youth and Sport, the City Hall of Brașov, the Prefecture of Braşov and the Brașov County Council.

2019 IAU 50 Km World Championship – provisional results. Brasov has witnessed a string of extraordinary performances at IAU 50KM World Championships! It was the first time when the 50 km World Championship was held in Europe. Alyson Dixon from United Kingdom and Iraitz Arrospide from Spain are new World Champions. Alyson won with an amazing time of 3:07:20, and Iraitz Arrospide won with 02:47:42!

2019 IAU 24 Hour World Championship – PEF completed. We are getting closer to 2019 IAU 24H World Championships that will take place on 26th-27th October in Albi, France. The Preliminary Entry Forms were provided by Member Federations to the LOC, this means we can now share some interesting facts.

Continental Records – provisional list of records. Following on from our last communication on Continental Records we would like to take a step forward and share with you the outcome of the work done so far on this initiative. As communicated earlier the goal is to absolute the Continental Records for 24H, 50K and 100K ensuring that they are all up to date. We as an organization believe that this is a great opportunity to further develop ultra-running not only globally but also in the localized regions.

2019 IAU 50 Km World Championship � starting list

2019 IAU 50 Km World Championship – Athletes List. On September 1st 2019 the IAU 50 km World Championship will take place in Brasov, Romania. All the IAU Member Federations have provided all required details about Athletes and officials that will participate in the event. This mean we will have Athletes from 31 countries around the world that will take part of the Championship. There will be 75 women from 26 countries and 94 men from 26 countries.

First IAU 50 Km African Championship � GIS published

First IAU 50 Km African Championship – GIS published. On December 7th the first IAU 50 km African Championship will take place in Sagamu, Nigeria. All concern IAU Member Federations have just been sent the invitations, entry forms (Preliminary Entry Form and Final Entry Form) and General Information Sheet (GIS) for the Championship.

First IAU Technical Education

First IAU Technical Education. One of our main objectives is to promote and develop long distance running worldwide by encouraging specific activities in each of the IAAF Continental Areas. At the same time IAU is trying to give back to our ultra-running community as much as possible. This is why the IAU Technical Committee completed the First IAU Technical Education in Bertioga, Brazil. The course took place on July 25th during the 2nd IAU 100 km Americas Championship.10 participants from 5 countries attended this course. Successful completion of the face-to-face course is the opening for them to become the IAU Technical Delegate who will supervise the IAU Label competitions in Central and South America.

Ian Cornelius passed away It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Ian Cornelius from Australia. On behalf of the IAU we would like to express our sincere condolences to Ian’s family, friends and all those who knew him. Ian was known to many in the Australian and International ultra running community. He had an incredible passion for the sport and was devoted to encouraging others to participate.

IAU 100 km Americas Championship - race report

IAU 100 km Americas Championship - race report. Felipe Coast da Silva and Helen Cristina Caldera Deluque both from Brazil won the Championship. Brazil won Men Team and Argentina. Women Team competition. It is new chapter in ultrarunning history for South America. For the first time we had opportunity to have IAU Championship here and it was great success. Brazil and CBAT host Athletes from the region and it was big milestone with sport development for South America.
