One of our IAU objectives is further regional event development. In 2023 we had for the first time Copa IAU SudAmericana Ultramarathon. The event had 50 km and 12H race. In 2024 we are moving further to expand event to all the Americas when this time the 50 km and 24H event will take place in Argentina. The LOC will organise the event on April 20th, 2024 in Mar del Plata. This will be a great opportunity for Athletes to compete in 24H event within their own American region.
IAU America's Cup is a very important step for us building on the success of the IAU SudAmericana Cup organized in 2023. The event in Mar Del Plata last year set the stage to host the America's Cup creating an event for athletes in the Americas region to run on a regional platform preparing for future championships.

After the success of the Copa IAU SudAmericana in 2023, and with the stated objective of making the ultramarathon grow on the continent, for the year 2024 we also want to count on our friends from Mexico, Canada and the USA. This time, in addition to the 50 km, the best on the American region will run 24 hours. We hope to have the presence of the IAU Council Member. At an official level, the race is recognized as being of tourist and sporting interest in the city of Mar del Plata, the main tourist city in Argentina.
This initiative is supported by the Athletic Federation of the Province of Buenos Aires, the Mar del Plata Athletics Federation, the National High Performance Sports Entity and the National Sports Secretariat. We are waiting for you in April in Mar del Plata!
