2019 IAU 50 Km World Championship – GIS published. On September 1st 2019 the IAU 50 km World Championship will take place in Brasov, Romania. All the IAU Member Federations have just been sent the invitations, entry forms (Preliminary Entry Form and Final Entry Form) and General Information Sheet (GIS) for the World Championships.
IAU Technical Education
IAU Technical Education. One of our main objectives is to promote and develop long distance running worldwide by encouraging specific activities in each of the IAAF Continental Areas. At the same time IAU is trying to give back to our ultra-running community as much as possible. This is why the IAU Technical Committee will launch the Technical Education in 2019. It will be great opportunity to share our expert experience with you and gives you the chance to become an “IAU Technical Delegate”. All our Technical Delegates need to have been trained as technical officials in their own country up to national standard (i.e. race referee/judge for national championships) or Race Directors with experience in IAU Label Races.
Organization year end updates
Organization 2019 year end updates. Year 2019 was an outstanding and very busy Championships year for our organization. A Few days ago we shared with you the end year summary from Championship perspective as this was fantastic year for international ultrarunning, with six ultra-distance championships covering all regions. Now we would like to share more about our organization that stands behind those developments and which works all the yearlong to deliver world class events. Our aim is and always was to support Athletes, Federations and organizations.
2019 Athlete of the Year � nominations
2019 Athlete of the Year – nominations. As in previous years we are continuing with the Athletes of the Year process. Year 2019 was a very exciting and at the same time very busy year for the sport of ultrarunning. It was the first time in 35 years of IAU history when we had six championships held in all regions.
First IAU 6H Balkan Challenge - GIS
First IAU 6H Balkan Challenge - GIS. On the 23rd May 2020 the City of Timisoara in Romania will host the first IAU 6H Balkan Challenge incorporated into the S24H on the same weekend. During that weekend there will be 6H, 12H and 24H open race as well.

The Winner of the 2019 IAU Athlete of the Year. It is our pleasure to announce that after completion the voting process the 2019 Winners of the IAU Athlete of the Year are Camille Herron (USA) and Aleksandr Sorokin (LTH).
