Ames Town Council has released the official logo for the upcoming IAU 100K World Championships, a design created exclusively by the Council to represent the event and its host community.
The emblem features the map of Ames encircling an ultra-distance runner, symbolising both the endurance of the athletes and the municipality’s commitment to welcoming them. The runner is shown passing A Ponte Maceira, one of Ames’s most significant heritage landmarks.
The design also incorporates a scallop shell, reflecting the three historic Routes of Santiago that cross the municipality: the Portuguese Way, the Fisterra Way, and the Muros and Noia Way. Together, these elements highlight the cultural richness and identity of Ames as it prepares to host this prestigious global championship.
