We are happy to announce the 2025 Technical Education course for ultrarunning, which will be conducted online to accommodate participants from Africa, Asia and Oceania. The date for Europe and Americas will come soon. This initiative continues the successful face-to-face technical education programs held in the past, aiming to equip individuals who will serve as Technical Delegates for IAU Label events with valuable technical knowledge and skills.
Course Details:
The online education program will cover essential topics relevant to ultrarunning, ensuring that participants receive comprehensive education. Designed to be inclusive, this training allows a diverse range of participants to engage and learn together, fostering a collaborative learning environment. The course will be delivered by Paco Rico, IAU Director of Planning and Andre Mingneau, IAU Director of Competitions.
Proposed dates and time for course (duration 3 hours):
- Session 1: August 23rd at 0800 CET (Asia and Oceania / English) - registration dedaline, Wedneday, August 20th 2025
- Session 2: October 4th at 1200 CET (Africa / English) - registration dedaline, Wedneday, October 1st 2025
- Session 3: October 5th at 1200 CET (Africa / French) - registration dedaline, Wedneday, October 1st 2025
Nomination Process:
To participate in this training program, nominations must be submitted by Member Federations. This process ensures that each country is represented and that participants are selected based on their commitment and potential to benefit from the training. It is particularly beneficial if the selection is based on technical skills or if the nominated individual is already responsible for technical aspects within their federation. This approach will be implemented for the first wave of technical education. The nomination has to be send to below email address with listed information about the participant:

Training top caliber technical officials in the discipline of ultrarunning falls perfectly under the realm of our development program. This training in regions of Asia, Oceania, Africa, Europe and Americas will further the technical expertise of officials and allow their involvement in more IAU labeled events and championships.

The training is offered free of charge, and upon successful completion, participants will receive a certificate of completion. Detailed course content will be provided upon registration, with the understanding that minor modifications may occur to enhance the learning experience.
This online training program presents a unique opportunity for individuals passionate about ultrarunning to gain knowledge, improve their skills, and connect with fellow athletes and coaches from various regions. Ultimately, participants will play a key role in the local development of events and represent the IAU as Technical Delegates.
