The International Association of Ultrarunners (IAU) and the Global Organization of Multiday Ultramarathoners (GOMU) held their initial Zoom meeting on July 26, 2024.

GOMU: Trishul Cherns (president), Viktoria Brown (vice-president), Bob Hearn (records committee), Käären Schilke-Cherns (executive assistant)
In this positive introductory meeting, the IAU and GOMU expressed interest in finding solutions to advance the sport of multi-day running. They exchanged ideas on their approaches to supporting the multi-day running and its athletic community in both the short and long term. Both organizations agreed to continue the discussion on how best to serve the ultrarunning and expanding multi-day communities.
