City Kranj in Slovenia doesn’t have marathon race, but it has supermarathon race, now fourth time in a row.
SLO12RUN was organized twice in Trboje (small city near Kranj, in 2015 and 2016). In 2019 organisers decided to organize this race for the first time in the center of Kranj, because they wanted to make the competition more attractive, even more interesting for the spectators, and especially for the competitors.
This are some of the competitors at the previous editions of the race: Patrycja Bereznowska (Poland, the winner of SLO12RUN 2022, 12h), Noora Honkala (Finland, the winner of the SLO12RUN 2022, 6h), Ivan Penalba Lopez (Spain), Nataša Robnik (SLO), state record holder for 12 hours (SLO12RUN 2019), Mirko B. Miklič (SLO), best score on Spartathlon (Greece) among Slovenes, Neža Mravlje (SLO), owner of Slovenian record at 100 km, Marco Bonfiglio (ITA), who set the Italian national record at the first edition of the Slovenian 12 Hour Run (SLO12RUN in Trboje, 2015), Ivan Cudin (ITA), three-time Spartathlon winner, Brenda Carawan (USA), who came second at one of the toughest ultramarathons across the Death Valley (Badwater, USA) in 2017.
This year the runners are coming from more then 20 countries. Among them are the most famous:
- Running God, Yiannis Kouros, (GR),
- Andrzey Piotrowski (POL),
- Mara Guler (ROU),
- Marco Visintini (ITA),
- Pascal Rüeger, SWITZERLAND
- Michal Šuľa (Serbia) and
- all the best male and female ultrarunners from Slovenia (Špela Šavs, Domen Kozjek, Uroš Srnec, Mirko B. Miklič, Boris Ivanovič).
Many of the best trail/ultratrail runners and marathon runners will attend 6 or 12h race.
This year will be also held the national championship of 12h run (the second time in Slovenia) and the national championship of 6 h run for runners from Bosnia and Hercegovina. Antidoping control will be processed.

ANDRZEJ ‘meloniq’ PIOTROWSKI, POLAND
Andrzej is one of the best ultrarunners in the world. Last year, in Verona, he achieved the third all-time result in the 24-hour race (301,858 km), right behind Sorokin and the Greek god of running, Yiannis Kouros, who will also be our guest of honor this time.
He says that he is coming to Kranj for good training and a short vacation with his partner Olga, who will also run the 6-hour of the SLO12RUN.
PASCAL RÜEGER, SWITZERLAND
,,Just did my race calendar for this year! I am definitly „in“ at your race (SLO12RUN) and moreover I judge it as a A-Priority Race… so I will try to beat my PB which is at 159k now.”

MARCO VISINTINI, ITALY
“I am coming to SLO12RUN to break the record of this competition (152.75 km), which is owned by Marco Bonfiglio (2015)”.
Visintini can boast of a series of excellent results on long distances, especially his performance at the European Championships (24h, Verona 2022), where he took third place with the fifth result of all time (288.437 km).

MARA GULER is an owner of the Romanian record for 6 and 24 hours, winner (Policoro/6 days), winner (Athens/1000 miles).
