GIS important update for 2024 IAU and WMA 100 km World Championships

Updated GIS Nov 18th

IAU and LOC would like to announce important updates regarding the 2024 IAU and WMA 100 km World Championships in Bengaluru, India. Due to unforeseen circumstances, the LOC has been obliged to change the main hotel (Courtyard by Marriott Bengaluru Hebbal) for the Championships. This change necessitates adjustments to the event schedule. In light of the new hotel’s distance from the race venue, we have decided to relocate both the Opening and Closing Ceremonies to the new hotel. This adjustment will minimize travel time, as all athletes will be transported directly to the hotel after the events.

New Accommodation Details:

Teams will now be accommodated at Chancery Hotels (https://chanceryhotels.com), which includes two properties: The Chancery Hotel and The Chancery Pavilion, located within 1 km of each other. All requested reservations (including any additional days) provided in FEF will be transferred in line with the team allocations. Everyday breakfast, lunch and dinner are served at respective hotels.

Distance to Race Venue:

The hotels are approximately 17 km from the race venue. Shuttle services will be arranged for transportation to and from the venue.

Travel Time:

  • Early morning: ~30 minutes
  • Later in the day: ~45 minutes

Ceremonies:

Both the Opening and Closing Ceremonies will take place at The Chancery Pavilion. Multiple shuttle services will be available to facilitate the transfer of athletes from the race venue to the hotel, allowing for rest and freshening up before the closing ceremony.

There are additional changes in the GIS, including adjustments to the daily schedules.

Updated GIS is provided in the link above and it has been shared with the Federation contacts.

We appreciate your understanding and cooperation as we make these necessary adjustments to ensure a successful championship. For any further inquiries, please do not hesitate to reach out to ultrarunning@nebsports.in
