To ensure your team is successfully registered for the IAU Major Competition (MIAUC), it is crucial to accurately complete the Preliminary and Final Entry Forms. Here’s a straightforward guide to help you through the process.
Step-by-Step Guide
Registration by National Federation: Ensure that only athletes selected by your Federation and teams officially registered by your National Federation are included in the entry forms. This is essential as only these athletes will count towards the team results. In the Preliminary Entry Form (PEF), you will only indicate the number of athletes and officials. A detailed list will be provided in the Final Entry Form (FEF).
Number of Athletes: Typically, each country may enter up to 9 men and 9 women (please refer to the General Information Sheet for confirmation). If more than 6 athletes (either or both men and women) are entered, then only 6 men and 6 women will be chosen by the Team Manager during the outfit meeting to count for the national teams standing. The additional athletes entered will count for the individual championships only. The team score is determined by summing the kilometers or times of the 3 best results from the selected men and the 3 best results from the selected women.
Team Officials: The maximum number of team officials allowed varies based on the size of the team:
- For 1 to 6 runners: 3 team officials
- For 7 to 12 runners: 6 team officials
- For 13 to 18 runners: 9 team officials
Notably, the Team Manager, Team Leader, Medical Staff, Crew are counted among these officials. Additionally, the Federation's President is considered an official if they attend the competition.
Accreditation: All individuals listed in the Final Entry Form (FEF) will require accreditation to gain access to the event. Ensure that the names and roles of all officials, including the President, Team Manager, Team Leader, Medical team, and Crew are clearly indicated in the form if they will be attending.
Submission: Follow the deadlines provided by the IAU for submitting the Preliminary and Final Entry Forms in the GIS. Be mindful of deadlines to ensure your team is registered in time.
