We are deeply saddened to hear of the passing of Colleen McNally. Our hearts go out to her family and friends during this incredibly difficult time. Colleen was a remarkable individual whose warmth and kindness touched the lives of many. Her spirit and passion for life will be remembered fondly by all who knew her.
Colleen's contributions to her community in South Africa were significant, and her legacy will live on in the hearts of those she inspired. As a dedicated member of the IAU Communication Committee since its establishment, she played a vital role in promoting the sport of ultramarathon running.
I first met Colleen in 2019 during the IAU 50 km World Championships in Romania. From that moment on, she was unforgettable. Her remarkable personality and warmth brought people together, creating a sense of unity around her. As a valued member of our IAU Communication Committee, Colleen will be deeply missed. She was not only a wonderful colleague but also a dear friend. Rest in peace, Colleen.
