Brazil team results from 2021 IAU 6H Virtual Global Solidarity Weekend

We are now sharng the results for Brazil.

 

Felipe da Costa Silva and Neide Rosa Sousa were the best-ranked Brazilians in the 6 H Virtual Global Solidarity, an initiative of the International Association of Ultramarathoners (IAU), whose main objective in Brazil was to collect food, clothing, toys or money  to help the most needy people in this time of the COVID-19 pandemic.

 

Felipe from Santa Catarina completed 81.63 km in six hours. He started at 5:14 am on Sunday (3/21), on a 1.1 km circuit around Farol Shopping, in the city of Tubarão (SC).  “It was all very cool,” said Felipe, winner of the IAU Continental Championship of 100 km Americas in 2019 in the city of Bertioga, in São Paulo.  "I managed to raise R$ 3,000.00 and buy basic food baskets for needy families, registered at the Church of Santa Teresinha do Menino Jesus, in Tubarão (his city)."

 

Hellen Deluque, from Brasilia, was happy with the performance (66.66 km) and mainly because she collected many donations - clothes, food, hygiene products - sent to Creche Tia Tatá, which serves needy children from local communities. Champion of the IAU Continental of Ultramarathon of 100 km Americas, in 2019, in Bertioga, she ran on Saturday (20/3) in a circuit of 4 km in the parking lot 10 of Parque da Cidade Sarah Kubistchek, in Brasilia.
