IAU President Highlights Development and Performance in Bosnia and Poland
International Association of Ultrarunners (IAU) President Nadeem Khan recently
visited Bosnia and Poland, meeting with representatives of the national athletics
federations to discuss the continued development of the sport and opportunities for
greater international participation.
In Bosnia, discussions with Mehmed Lokmic, General Secretary of the Bosnia and
Herzegovina Athletics Federation, focused on the growth and development of
athletes and the potential for greater collaboration across the region.
Particular attention was given to cooperation with neighbouring countries, including
the possibility of organising joint championships that could provide athletes with
additional competitive opportunities and help strengthen regional links. The
discussions also looked ahead to the participation of Bosnian athletes in future IAU
championships.
In Poland, President Khan met with representatives including Pawel Jesien,
coordinator for non-Olympic sports and Tomasz Majewski, Vice President, with
discussions highlighting the high calibre of Polish athletes and the strong support
provided by the federation.
The meeting also focused on preparations for future championships and the
continued development of Polish athletes. Maintaining the country's high level of
performance will require sustained support and opportunities for athletes to compete
and progress at international level.

The visits form part of the IAU's continued engagement with national federations,
with a focus on supporting athlete development, strengthening cooperation between
federations, and creating further opportunities for athletes to compete on the
international stage.
Nadeem thanked the federation representatives for their hospitality and for the
constructive discussions on the future development of the sport in both countries.
