Hirosaki City in Japan is set to host an exciting running event, the 4th Kasen Time Run & 100km Ultra Marathon, which promises to challenge endurance athletes from around the world. Scheduled to take place at the scenic Hirosaki City Sports Park, this event is recognized as an IAU Bronze Label event and will serve as a precursor to the 2026 IAU 24H Asia and Oceania Championships, making it a significant occasion for both participants and spectators. This year, the IAU President will participate in this event to observe the preparations for the 2026 Championships.
The event kicks off at 12:00 PM Japan time on May 23rd, with number of categories for runners to choose from. Here’s a breakdown of the schedule:
- 6 Days: Starts on May 23rd at 12:00 PM. This category has attracted 45 participants, including 15 women and 30 men.
- 48 Hours: Begins at the same time as the 6-day event, with 28 entrants (7 female and 21 male).
- 24 Hours: This race will commence at 12:00 PM Japan time on May 24th, featuring 104 runners (27 female and 77 male).
- 100 km: The 100 km race is set to start bright and early at 5:00 AM Japan time on May 24th, with a total of 53 participants (11 women and 42 men).
