Nominations for IAU Committees
IAU Committees are a huge part of our operations. We rely to them for IAU's everyday functioning from communications, technical to labelling. Volunteer members in these committees bring their knowledge and expertise to the table and assist in promoting this global sport.
We are opening nominations for the committees listed below on 25th of October 2025 and will close on 8th of November 2025. Self-nominations can be made by sending an email to respective IAU Council Members mentioned below.
Please include your CV explaining your expertise for the committee(s) of your choice. As mentioned above the nominations will close on 8th November 2025.
At this time we want to thank the current members of these committees. They have done a tremendous job volunteering and without their assistance IAU will not be where it is today. Thank you!

Committee presentation:
- Awards Committee
Members of this committee will be a discussion board to select Career Award nominees and any other awards that IAU decides to initiate in the future. Historical knowledge of the ultrarunning community is an added advantage to be a member.
- Communication Committee
We are looking for passionate people that can work on communication. If you know how to do an interview, write reports, article from events. If you know how to navigate in social media such Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, YouTube. If you have graphic experience, work with podcast, websites and you can dedicate time to those activities this is the right place. The main objective for the communication committee is to deliver in timely manner all relevant information around IAU major event.
- Marketing & Promotion Committee
It is a committee whose goal will be to promote the ultra marathon and its members. Popularize and increase our events. Attract sponsors and partners and as many practitioners as possible around the world
- Medical Committee
Members of this committee will need to have a medical-related background. The medical committee discusses medical related items pertaining to ultrarunning, arranges medical seminars and is a forum for any scientific based ultrarunning discussions.
- Technical Committee
Committee to help the IAU Council in order to provide technical support from specialists in various matters such as timing, material, provisioning, official measurements, technical data and statistics, regulations specify ultrarunning events, WA regulation, doping and drugs
- Labelling Committee
The IAU Labeling Committee was established to enhance the standards and accessibility of ultradistance races by revising the criteria for IAU labels. The IAU Labelling initiative ensures that race courses comply with World Athletics regulations, making it possible to officially recognize and compare performances. The committee is responsible for reviewing applications for IAU labels, with full training provided to facilitate this process. Only results from IAU-labelled events are acknowledged by the IAU, which is essential for record-setting.
