2022 IAU 6H Global Virtual Solidarity Weekend Ireland

This year Team Ireland manager John O'Regan organised a 6hr Track Race around the IAU Global Solidarity weekend to give athletes an opportunity to race and have a recorded 6hr distance. The event had an IAU bronze label and included an open race as an introduction to athletes wanting to experience the time based ultra running format.

During the event we had Anne Jennings, Sinead Kane, Lorraine McMahon & Aoife Lyons running on the Women's team and Keith Russel Running on the men's team.

On the day Anne Jennings set a new Irish 6hr record of 65.560Km followed by Lorraine McMahon with 64.567Km and Sinead Kane with 63.943Km also beating the previous Irish 6hr record. Keith Russel who was also running as a guide runner on the day with Sinead Kane covered a distance of 63.943Km.

The following day and to round of the weekend Alex O'Shea ran solo on a 300M loop close to home in County Cork to cover an impressive distance of 75.237Km in less than ideal conditions. Patricia McLoughlin completed 35Km running solo in Portland Oregon, USA.

The Team completed 420,4 km in total.
