2020 IAU 24 Hour Americas Championship cancelled. Following the development of the coronavirus situation in Argentina, it is with regret that we have to inform you that the 2020 IAU 24H Americas Championship in Termas de Río Hondo is cancelled.

Following the development of the coronavirus situation in Argentina, and taking into account country precautionary action on grounding all incoming and outgoing flights until early September, it is with regret that we have to inform you that the 2020 IAU 24H Americas Championship in Termas de Río Hondo, near Santiago del Estero, a northern province of Argentina is cancelled. Initially the Championship was postponed from May to September 2020 but now it is cancelled by mutual agreement between the IAU and the LOC.

The current global situation is slowly improving, but it is still very uncertain and varies from country to country. In addition it will be not possible to fly to Argentina in proposed September timeframe. Moreover at the moment many countries introduced movement restrictions therefore athletes are unable to train and compete.

First and foremost we had to consider the health and well-being of our athletes, officials and spectators in making this decision and we hope that everybody will remain safe and well.
