IAU statement on the Coronavirus (Covid-19)

IAU statement on the Coronavirus (Covid-19) The IAU is very aware of the fast moving situation regarding the Coronavirus (Covid-19) outbreak starting in China with infection now in a number of countries. We are keeping ourselves full informed about the situation through the information from the World Health Organisation and the travel advice for each country. Health and safety for our athletes and teams are paramount and we shouldn’t risk the possibility that our championships might result in the risk of additional infection. We are also aware that teams will be making preparations for our competitions over the next weeks and months so we will keep a close eye on the situation and let our federations know, immediately, if there are any changes in our plans. As of now there are no changes in the upcoming championships schedule. IAU Executive Council March 3rd, 2020
