Belfast Results note

24 Hour World Championships Timing Issues and Final Results. I want to take this opportunity on behalf of the IAU to express our regret in the timing situation in Belfast.

This was unacceptable and we understand the stress and frustration this would have caused the athletes, team management and the supporters during and after the race.

As you have seen that the final results have now been posted on our website. These results have gone through the necessary appeals process including an additional appeals step that we instituted given the special circumstances of the situation.

We, in the IAU, are working closely with our technical committee to format processes that will prevent these issues in the future. Our goal is to continue to uplift the standards of our championships and we will work hard with our LOCs that situations like these are not repeated in the future.

On a related note our athletes should take great pride in the outstanding performances achieved by them at the championships. These include a World´s Best Performance (pending ratification) , several national records and personal bests. Congratulations to all!

As always if you have any questions please do not hesitate to contact us. We wish you All the Best for the remainder of the season.
