IAU Statement.
The IAU regretfully announces the resignation of Dirk Strumane from his position as President of the International Association of Ultrarunners.
During his 12 years as President of the IAU, Dirk developed the IAU into its current strong position where it serves the ultrarunning community with strong governance, competitive international championships and loyal co-operation between athletes, federations and race organisers across the world.
The IAU is very grateful for the superlative work that Dirk did during his tenure and his leadership will be missed. Dirks resignation is based on personal reasons.
The IAU Executive Council will make further announcements in due course about the Presidency, but in the meantime progress on all the IAU activities, including this years championships, will be proceeding as normal.
