King and Greenwood Voted as IAU Athletes of the Year 2014. The IAU Athletes of the Year have been announced.

It is with great pleasure we announce that Max King (USA) and Ellie Greenwood (GBR) have been voted as the IAU Athletes of the Year 2014.

2014’s short list was outstanding with several athletes accomplishing amazing performances throughout the course of the year. This is great for the sport to see individuals surpassing their previous bests.

Our winners this year had an exceptional season themselves. King had an outstanding season winning the 100km IAU World Championships in Doha, Qatar with a time of 6:27:41. Greenwood duplicated her success winning the same championships in the women’s category in 7:30:44.

Athletes finishing on the podium at Major IAU Championships had automatic nominations on the short list. Those names were combined by nominees received from our website nomination. The shortlist (listing their performances in IAU labeled events) was send to all seventy eight IAU member federations and IAU Council members.
