Education and Proffesional Work

A graduated in Biotechnology and Food Science with Master of Science and Engineering degree. Over 20 years’ experience in pharmaceutical field.

Running

Since 2012 an ultrarunner with 100k PB of 7:22:32 and marathon 2:41:27. Started running only in 2010. In 2014 nominated to National Ultrarunning Team and represented Poland at 27th IAU 100 km World Championship and 22nd European Championship that took place in Doha, Qatar. In 2015 participated in the 28th IAU 100 km World Championship and 23rd European Championship that took place in Winschoten in the Netherlands. Participated in the 29th IAU 100 km World Championship in Los Alcazares, Spain and 30th IAU 100 km World Championship in Sveti Martin na Muri, Croatia. In 2015 part of Polsih National Team management at IAU 24H World championship in Turine, Italy. In 2017 Polish National Team Manager at IAU 24H World Championship in Belfast, Norther Ireland.

Jacek Bedkowski has been serving as the IAU Director of Communication since 2018 and as Chair of the IAU Communication Committee since 2017. In 2021, he was re-elected as IAU Director for the term of 2021-2025. During his tenure, he has made significant strides in enhancing the IAU's communication channels by establishing new platforms and ensuring timely coverage across various media. His efforts include managing pre- and post-race reports, Championship communications, and awards announcements. He has also built a global Communication Team to represent all regions and promote ultra-running on an international scale.

In addition to his communication role, Jacek has served as project coordinator for several IAU Championships, including the 2022 IAU 24H European Championships in Italy and the 2024 IAU 100km World Championships in India, and he is assigned as project coordinator for the 2025 IAU 24H World Championships in Albi, France. He has also acted as Technical Delegate for several ultra races in Poland and Taiwan, which hold IAU Silver and IAU Gold Labels.

Jacek played a key role in organizing the celebrations for the IAU's 40th anniversary throughout 2024. He is a member of the Marketing Committee, focusing on the financial development of the IAU, and he oversees the organization of the annual IAU Athlete of the Year Award. Additionally, he coordinated the IAU Global Solidarity Weekend, which took place from 2020 to 2024. Since the establishment of the IAU Athletes Commission in 2018, he has represented the IAU on this commission.
