2019 Athlete of the Year – nominations. As in previous years we are continuing with the Athletes of the Year process. Year 2019 was a very exciting and at the same time very busy year for the sport of ultrarunning. It was the first time in 35 years of IAU history when we had six championships held in all regions.

The State of Ultra Running 2020. We are pleased to share with you the largest study ever completed on the sport of ultra running. RunRepeat with the support of the International Association of Ultrarunners (IAU) has analyzed 5,010,730 results from 15,451 ultra running events over the last 23 years. First IAU 6H Balkan Challenge On the 23rd May 2020 the City of Timisoara in Romania will host the first IAU 6H Balkan Challenge incorporated into the S24H on the same weekend. During that weekend there will be 6H, 12H and 24H open race as well.

2020 IAU 24 Hour Americas Championship announcement. We are very pleased to announce that the 2020 IAU 24H Americas Championships was granted to Termas de Río Hondo, near Santiago del Estero, a northern province of Argentina. The proposed date for the Championships is 16th – 17th May 2020. Termas de Río Hondo is a spa city in Santiago del Estero Province.

First IAU 50 km Africa Championship – provisional results. We are sharing provisional results for the 2019 IAU 50 km Africa Championship that took place on December 7th in Sagamu, Nigeria. It was double gold for South Africa Individual and Team competition. In addition 4 medals for home land Nigeria and one medal for Zimbabwe.
2020 � 2021 IAU Asia and Oceania Championships in Bengaluru, India
2020 – 2021 IAU Asia and Oceania Championships in Bengaluru, India. We are very pleased to announce that the 2020 IAU 24H Asia and Oceania Championships and the 2021 IAU 100 km Asia and Oceania Championships were granted to Bengaluru, India. The 24-hour Championships will take place on 18th – 19th July 2020. The 100 km event is scheduled for September 2021 (final date to be confirmed).

2019 IAU 100 km Asia and Oceania Championship official results. On November 23rd we witnesses great event in Aqaba, Jordan where Athletes from Asia & Oceania participated in IAU 100 KM Championship for the region. It was double gold for Japan (Hideaki Yamauchi 7:11:42 & Mai Fujisawa 8:20:44.
