It will be the inauguration of the IAAF World Trail and Mountain Running Championships, a result of a unique partnership between the IAAF, ITRA and WMRA. 2018 IAU Career Awards The IAU Career award has been established since 2014 to recognize for tireless ultrarunning enthusiasts who have worked long and hard to increase the profile of national and international ultrarunning. This prestigious honour recognizes the hard work and dedication in developing and promoting the sport over the years. We are committed to honouring the individuals who have paved the way of the sport for the future. It is our great pleasure to announce that we awarded two individuals with the IAU Career Award. The Award went to Donald Alexander Ritchie [GBR] (passed away in June 2018) and Jürgen Schoch [GER]. The awards will be presented at the earliest convenience.

Athletics Federation of India (AFI) submitted a bid to host two continental ultra running championships in Bengaluru in 2020 & 2021. Athletics Federation of India has expressed interest to host two continental championships in the next couple of years for which bids have already been submitted. Nadeem Khan, IAU President and Rober Boyce, IAU Vice-President had their first official visit in India to assess the possibility for the Federation to become the host of the IAU event. With support of NEB Sports, India has bid for hosting the IAU 24 Hour Asia & Oceania Championships in 2020 and the IAU 100 Km Asia and Oceania Championships in 2021, which is being discussed during this visit.
