IAU Executive Committee latest information from the mid year meeting in Belgium. The EC had a very useful meeting in Leuven, Belgium at the end of June and the key decisions on a number of important issue are outlined below with more details in the document attached
AFI) submitted a bid to host two continental Championship
Athletics Federation of India (AFI) submitted a bid to host two continental ultra running championships in Bengaluru in 2020 & 2021. Athletics Federation of India has expressed interest to host two continental championships in the next couple of years for which bids have already been submitted. Nadeem Khan, IAU President and Rober Boyce, IAU Vice-President had their first official visit in India to assess the possibility for the Federation to become the host of the IAU event. With support of NEB Sports, India has bid for hosting the IAU 24 Hour Asia & Oceania Championships in 2020 and the IAU 100 Km Asia and Oceania Championships in 2021, which is being discussed during this visit.

2019 Athlete of the Year – nominations. As in previous years we are continuing with the Athletes of the Year process. Year 2019 was a very exciting and at the same time very busy year for the sport of ultrarunning. It was the first time in 35 years of IAU history when we had six championships held in all regions.
