Athlete of the Year 2018 - nomination

Athlete of the Year 2018 - nomination. 2018 was a very exciting year for the sport of ultrarunning. Several championships took place starting with Trail World Championship in Penyagolosa, Spain, followed shortly by the European 24H Championship in Timisoara, Romania, then 100 km World Championship in Sveti Martin na Muri, Croatia and finally Asia & Oceania 24H Championship in Taipei, Taiwan. We witnessed outstanding performances during those races.

2020 IAU 24 Hour Americas Championship announcement

2020 IAU 24 Hour Americas Championship announcement. We are very pleased to announce that the 2020 IAU 24H Americas Championships was granted to Termas de Río Hondo, near Santiago del Estero, a northern province of Argentina. The proposed date for the Championships is 16th – 17th May 2020. Termas de Río Hondo is a spa city in Santiago del Estero Province.

Continental Records � provisional list of records

Continental Records – provisional list of records. Following on from our last communication on Continental Records we would like to take a step forward and share with you the outcome of the work done so far on this initiative. As communicated earlier the goal is to absolute the Continental Records for 24H, 50K and 100K ensuring that they are all up to date. We as an organization believe that this is a great opportunity to further develop ultra-running not only globally but also in the localized regions.

AFI) submitted a bid to host two continental Championship

Athletics Federation of India (AFI) submitted a bid to host two continental ultra running championships in Bengaluru in 2020 & 2021. Athletics Federation of India has expressed interest to host two continental championships in the next couple of years for which bids have already been submitted. Nadeem Khan, IAU President and Rober Boyce, IAU Vice-President had their first official visit in India to assess the possibility for the Federation to become the host of the IAU event. With support of NEB Sports, India has bid for hosting the IAU 24 Hour Asia & Oceania Championships in 2020 and the IAU 100 Km Asia and Oceania Championships in 2021, which is being discussed during this visit.
