2019 Athlete of the Year – nominations. As in previous years we are continuing with the Athletes of the Year process. Year 2019 was a very exciting and at the same time very busy year for the sport of ultrarunning. It was the first time in 35 years of IAU history when we had six championships held in all regions.

On July 27th the 2nd IAU 100 km Americas Championships will take place on the coast of Bertioga in Sao Paulo, Brazil. South America has never held an international ultra-distance championship so there is great excitement in the area.

Post Race Report 24hr world champs Turin
IAU 24 Hour World Championships won by Nagy and Reus. For the IAU European Championships Jannsen joined with Reus for GoldKatalin Nagy (USA) and Florian Reus from Germany became the IAU 24H World Champions with Maria Janssen (SWE) joining REUS as IAU 24H European Champions as well.
Suspension of Russian Federation
Provisional Suspension of the Russian Federation. The International Association of Ultrarnners (IAU) confirms that it will abide by and enforce the decision of the International Association of Athletics Federation (IAAF) to provisionally suspend the All-Russia Athletics Federation (ARAF).
