Romania, team results from 2021 IAU 6H Virtual Global Solidarity Weekend

Romania that will be hosting the IAU 24h World Championships in October 2021 participated in IAU 6H Global Solidarity event. Overall 10 athletes had participated in the event, 8 men and 2 women. Each one of them ran in their home cities, so practicaly they covered each part of Romania: West, North, East and South. Some of them ran in Timisoara (Western part of Romania), others in Sighetul Marmatiei (Northern part of Romania), one ran in Bacau (North-Est), others in Navodari (East), Bucuresti (South-East), Dragasani (South).

Daniel Antonaru who covered a distance of 79.55 km topped the leader board, followed by Robert Constantin Zamisnicu who clocked 79.13 km. Radu Roman at 70.10 km, Daniel Trusca at 67.24 km, Florin Simion at 65.49 km, Cristian-Dumitru Gheorghe at   65.10 km, George-Adrian Popa at 61.89 km and Ciprian-Gabriel Butaru at 45 km was the distance covered by the men’s team.

In women, Mariana Nenu covered 69.78 km and Ramona Ianas covered 58.03 km.Most of the participants were training for Romanian National Championships that is to be held in April 2021 hosting 6 hours, 12 hours and 24hours runs, along with 50Km and 100Km competition.
